One thing we often hear is ‘Australia’s water is clean, why do I need to use a shower filter?’ and that statement on face value can be hard to argue with, because our water is clean compared to world standards.

However if you dive a little deeper, you will find that to ensure our water is safe to drink and bathe in, a lot of chemicals are added to Australia’s water during the treatment process. Our water then travels through old pipes and can pick up a number of heavy metals like lead on its journey to our homes.

As a result, we end up showering in a wide variety of these chemicals and heavy metals which can lead to a number of skin and hair issues. That’s why it’s important to use a shower filter no matter where you live in Australia.

Our Shower Filters have been designed to fit on 1/2 taps, which is the universal standard size of shower taps in Australia.

In most cases, the answer is no. There are some instances where the attachment point is so tight that even superman would struggle to loosen it. In these instances, a wrench or pliers should do the trick.

Our Fettlers (users) typically see the best results when they change their Shower Filters every 3 months (90 days).

This can vary depending on factors such as shower length, number of showers per day and water temperature.

We know you’re keen to feel the full ‘Fettle Effect’ as soon as possible. The removal of chlorine and heavy particles will happen instantly once the water has run for a few minutes post installation. You may notice softer skin and hair from the vitamin C after your first few showers, for some it may take a little longer. The benefits of improved scalp health and skin conditions, if caused by hard water may take little longer to notice but it's well worth the wait.

Whilst we are waiting for the day there will be an official water filtering competition, so we can be officially crowned ‘best shower filter in Australia’...That competition might not come anytime soon. For now we will just say that our Fettle Filter has been designed with industry leading filtration technology, tailored to fit shower types across all of Australia.

Our shower filter will fit into your existing shower set up, as our fitting uses a universal attachment.

Whereas a shower head filter is a separate product entirely, whereby you will need to replace your shower head. The product has a shower filter integrated into it as well.

At this stage we are only selling shower filters, because our product can be used across almost all shower types in Australia, whereas the filtered shower heads can be quite restricted based on the current fittings you have. We may plan on selling them in the future.

At the moment we stock both a silver shower filter and a black shower filter, however we do have plans to stock a gold one in the not too distant future as well.
